Which problem does YCE solve?

The challenge with networks is how to stay in control of your change management and create a stable, agile and automated network.

After the initial roll-out, your network is still “as designed”, but what is the situation after two years? Different people with their own interpretations of how to resolve issues, have been working in your network, causing it to look more like spaghetti than lasagna. As a result, outages occur, time to market is slow and compliancy is at risk.

Did you know that from all network errors and outages worldwide, 90% is the result of configuration changes, of which 80% is caused by manual changes?! (according to analyst group EMA, see their Product Brief at the right)

The key is to bridge the gap between network design, engineering and operations and get in control of your change management process. In most cases, the different teams work separately from eachother and the process typically looks like this:

Spaghetti or lasagna

Network designs, made by a designer or architect, are ‘handed over’ as a visio or word document to be tested by the network engineers, who deliver a ‘golden config’ to the operations team that serves as a guideline for further deployment and ongoing life cycle management. When these processes are not aligned, the network, over time, gets out of sync, resulting in changes that are complex and risky. This jeopardizes network stability, agility and compliancy while preventing any chance of automation. This is what YCE resolves.
