The NetYCE solution has been originally developed, since 2001, for the internal Network Service Provider of one of the largest banks globally, Rabobank Netherlands. With their mission to become the "best IT enabled bank", Rabobank continuously invested in optimizing and automating their networks by which they were able to enforce more standardization, handle more complexity while at the same time increase the stability and security of their networks at decreasing operational cost.
The solution has been built within an operational environment. This means that it contains all the features that network engineering and operations teams need to run their networks, whether this is a local bank network with 1600 locations, a server backbone-, wireless-, data centre- or ATM (cash machine) network. The NetYCE solution can handle a wide variety of operational scenario's such as network migrations, service upgrades, new service provisioning, full life cycle management, handle multi vendor changes and many more.
The objective behind developing the solution was to be able to have full control of what goes on in the network. As a result the philosophy was a top down approach to network change management, whereby the system acts as the Operational Support Systems (OSS) for the network.
