HistoryThe first version of the YCE platform was created in 2002, when the internal network provider of a large Dutch bank requested one of the founders of NetYce to automate the provisioning of a new network, replacing 1600 of one vendor’s devices with those from another. Initially intended as a custom solution, it was decided to build a robust and generic solution reflecting all the aspects of what a Network Services Provisioning platform should be. The YCE platform was introduced and taken into production in 2002. Since then the platform has matured significantly; taking on board the full automation of 95% of the bank’s networking devices. In total 5500 devices in five different networks, ranging from local bank locations, main offices, data center virtualization, to wireless ATM networks are currently under control of the YCE platform. It handles up to 5000 unattended changes overnight with only a limited number of support staff. It was decided to make the YCE solution commercially available for other customers and the privately owned company NetYce was set up in 2010. |
